Truth: I Want All My Colors to Be Brilliant

I have hidden myself for so long
Pretending all is fine, life must go on
Knowing if someone saw the true me
My perfect world would deflate on me
I want to be true to who I am,
Not be who others think I am
Smile on my face, only skin deep,
It’s time to reveal what’s inside of me

I want all my colors to be brilliant and true
Not fading away like the morning dew
For in the light my colors show,
More clear and bright because I let go

Why did I wait so long
When hope deferred thought would make me strong
Waiting for better days, claiming to walk in faith
It just added to my hesitance of embracing who I really am
When faced with reality, my world will only change by revealing me
