Dare to Raise Your Hand

Rear view of class raising handsEver had fear stop you from making a move and taking risk? I remember many times as a young child being in a class with my peers and the teacher would ask a question. I was sure I knew the right answer. I looked around the room and no one else was daring to raise their hand. So I sat there anxious, heart racing, and contemplating all of the most scary outcomes if I raised my hand and gave the wrong answer–I will look like a fool, no one will ever forget my public mistake, and at recess everyone will point at me and laugh.  Then I began to second guess my own original answer–I talked myself right out of raising my hand. As soon as my teacher would give the answer, my heart would sink in my chest–I KNEW THE RIGHT ANSWER AND I COULD HAVE LOOKED BRILLIANT!!! Ha!

Many times out of fear, we second guess and talk ourselves right out of making the very move that would set us on course to destiny. Today, don’t let fear stop you from taking risk–trust your gut instincts. Trust Holy Spirit inside of you leading you into all truth. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
