Day #21 – Lessons Learned in Running–I DID IT!

Today was a monumental day for me–I accomplished my first half marathon! Wahooo–It was amazing! I did the Madison Garden Marathon for Children’s Voice, Inc, which is a nonprofit organization to help prevent child abuse. It was the coldest day out of all our running–at 8:15am it was 42 degrees! My friend and I finished the whole race in 2 hours and 25 minutes.

For those of you who followed my Lessons Learned in Running Blog, I say, “Thank You!” This whole summer has been an amazing journey of discovery– conquering my fears of failure, realizing I can do the impossible when I put my mind to it, and the value of having friends with you on your road to success. There is so much more to be said that was gained from this intense summer of training.  But for now… I will let you enjoy the pictures… I am so proud of this accomplishment!

Lesson #21 – Note to self: Savor the moment of Success!

My husband and girls with me before the race--only 42 degrees at 8:05am.

And we're off...
