I Will Give It All

I will give it all away, so I can gain it all.  I will seek first Your kingdom oh God.  To count the cost to follow the the Lord God, Yahweh.  Who doesn’t first count the cost to follow Jesus? (Luke 14:26-33) To have the fullness, one must be willing to give it all.  Give up reputation, ones own plans for life, the desire to be successful, for fortune, or fame, ministry, friends, family, give up bitterness, envy, jealousy, unforgiveness, all of your rights, everything to follow! Its a big question, a big commitment, one not to be taken lightly.

When we say, “We will give it all to follow You, Jesus!” He takes us at our word, He takes us seriously and literally.  He will come into your life and begin to shake, to turn your world upside down, then flip you back up side right. God so desires us to walk in the fullness of His purpose, presence, and blessing more than we can even begin to comprehend. We give it all to follow Him, He begins to shake, and we get freaked out, and say I am not so sure God, give me back the reigns! But it is in the shaking, it is in the turning upside down and flipping around, that we begin to see a glimpse of the fullness and purposes of God.  To come to the reality that there is no other place you would rather be than in the purposes and plans that God has for you.  Because when you have counted the cost to give it all, He will give you everything.  It might not come how you would imagine, but everything to God is more than any earthly treasure, it is all of His kingdom and more, peace, love, joy, the fullness of who He is!

So, God, take me at my word, take me literally…”I give it all away, so I can gain it all, I will seek first Your kingdom.”
